Omega-3 fatty acids from fish are important for the health of the dog as it strengthens the immune system, helps reduce inflammation, gives the dog a healthy skin and glossy coat, helps protect the dog from kidney disease and maintains healthy joints.Unlike people, who require plenty of energy from carbohydrate sources, dogs get their energy from fat sources. | Administration / Dosage: | The individual daily amount of food required may vary depending on a number of factors such as breed, environment, season, activity level, and so on. For example, sled dogs may need 3 to 4 times as much energy as a normal house dog. It is therefore advisable to adjust the amount of food in order to maintain a healthy weight. Because of the high content of fat in Active Specific CAD, it is recommended to make a gradual transition to this food over a period of 5-7 days. |
